Andrew Melville Hall
Catered
Undergraduate only
Located on the North Haugh beside the Science Buildings, this hall is about one mile from the town centre.
It was the first purpose built residence to be completed (1968) and won a design award.
All but 1 of the rooms are single study bedrooms and the majority of them are angled to have views across to the sea. The bedrooms are grouped in five blocks of 50.
Additional Information
The University has undertaken work on the North Haugh to create facilities and upgrade others. There are plans to construct other facilities in the near future, but these are yet to be confirmed. These developments will provide a range of new facilities for staff and students.
It is important that as a resident of Andrew Melville Hall you are made aware of the activities associated with developments on the North Haugh and alerted to any impact that they may have.
Planned developments
A new Biomolecular Sciences Research Centre and an Energy and Innovation Centre are planned for the North Haugh. There is a possibility that these projects could start in 2010.
Every effort will be made to keep you advised of any developments on the North Haugh that could potentially have an impact upon your enjoyment of your residential experience.
