Online Another online dictionary and thesaurus - use the one you like the best!

Bibliomania
Online access to a vast array of reference texts (for example Roget's Thesaurus, Brewer's Dictionary of Phrase and Fable, Simond's History of American Literature), biographies and works of literature in drama, fiction and poetry.

Encyclopaedia Britanica online
Free access to a small subset of encyclopedia entries on a specified word or phrase. With paid membership, you get many more entries as well as relevant websites and magazine articles.

Resource Discovery Network

The Resource Discovery Network is an excellent and extensive resource that covers many academic subject areas such as arts and humanities, physical and life sciences and professions.

"The RDN provides access to a series of Internet resource catalogues containing descriptions of high quality Internet sites, selected and described by specialists from within UK academia and affiliated organisations".

Included are online tutorials for using and searching the Internet, which can be contextualised to your particular area of study.
