Study skills resources
To become a more proficient learner you need to develop good study and learning strategies.
This area of the website contains booklets and links to websites that you may find useful in your quest to become a more effective learner.
- The booklets, which you can download and print, have been developed by June Knowles, the Learning Support Consultant. They cover topics such as preparing to study, devising a revision schedule, reading effectively, taking notes and exam preparation.
- The websites listed have been recommended by students and offer practical solutions to a wide range of study problems, such as academic referencing, time-management, writing essays and lab reports, and proper use of English.
If you find a website that may be useful to other students please email June. It will be reviewed and if appropriate will be added to the appropriate website area.
If you wish to meet with the Learning Support Consultant; please email June Knowles jk38@st-andrews.ac.uk or learning@st-andrews.ac.uk and a suitable appointment can be arranged.
Remember: effective studying means extra time for doing something more interesting!
