Academic Skills: Effective Learning Tools and Techniques 1

This module is designed to enable students to attain a level of proficiency in managing their learning activities, reading and note-making skills required for University Study and to further develop their knowledge of the theoretical and practical aspects of studying.

This module focuses on key tools and techniques that students require to become more autonomous and successful in their learning. In this module these are:

  • Time management
  • Reading skills
  • Note-making
  • Reflective writing.

Other skills integrated with this module include: academic referencing, reflective writing, speed writing, critical thinking, using ePortfolios and small group working.

This module focuses on key tools and techniques that students require to become more autonomous and successful in their learning. In this module these are:

  • Essay writing
  • Report writing
  • Presentation skills.

Other skills integrated with this module include: academic referencing, reflective writing, critical thinking, using ePortfolios and small group working.
