Postgraduate students matriculation information
Taught Postgraduate students are required to matriculate at the start of their first semester of study in each academic year. You will be required to use the Online Matriculation process to confirm your details and make any payment arrangements. You will also need to meet with your School who will arrange for you to be advised into the relevant module choices.
Research Postgraduate students are required to matriculate at the start of their studies and annually thereafter. You will be expected to complete the Online Matriculation process, providing personal information and completing any payment requirements.
Registry will contact Research students to let them know when to matriculate. Research students are expected to complete matriculation within four weeks of their matriculation date, and students who do not matriculate by this deadline, without prior approval, will become subject to the Failure to Register Policy.
International students will be asked to attend a passport and visa check at matriculation. Full details of where and when these checks can be undertaken will be included in online matriculation.
It is, therefore, essential that you matriculate as soon as you have been informed by Registry, and if you anticipate that you will have difficulties meeting this deadline (if you will be away undertaking field work, for instance) you must contact your supervisor andthe Registry (matriculation@st-andrews.ac.uk) to discuss your situation.
Personal details
Please note that it is your responsibility both to make changes to your personal details record whenever necessary and to ensure that you have explicitly consented, or not, to the use of your contact details. Your matriculation will not be fully registered until your online matriculation has been completed, your personal details have been updated and any passport and visa checks have been undertaken. To update your personal details click the View and Amend Personal Details option, which can also be found via the Current Postgraduates homepage.
