Insurance scheme: Students' personal effects in residences
Property insured / leased
Personal effects/belongings of students in residence at properties provided by the University (including Direct Leased/managed properties). Includes theft while in transit between home and the University at the beginning and end of term.
Includes
Accidental damage and theft from the student’s bedroom or communal areas (forcible entry restrictions on some items/location).
Sum insured
£5,000 per student (limit any one item £1,250). Example of specific limits for some items include £2,000 for computer equipment, £1,000 for photographic equipment, £1,000 for sports equipment, £500 for mobile phone (forcible entry only).

Exclusions
Mobile phones, money, credit/debit cards (forced entry cover only), the first £10 of each and every claim (£50 for laptop).
Annual premium
The premium is included in the accommodation fees.
