Transcripts of academic records and HEARs
Undergraduate and taught postgraduate students who graduated from 2010 onwards
From 2010 all undergraduate, and taught postgraduate, graduating students have been provided with five free copies of enhanced academic transcripts called Higher Education Achievement Reports (HEARs) at Graduation. The HEAR has replaced the traditional University transcript and will be issued to students graduating from 2010 onwards in response to transcript requests as a matter of course.
The core information on the HEAR relating to the qualification, modules, results and prizes obtained is the same as the information on the traditional transcripts. Sections of the HEAR are:
- Holder of qualification
- Qualification achieved
- Qualification levels
- Qualification -
- mode of study
- general programme requirements
- specific programme requirements at 3000 level and above
- programme specifications (URL)
- modules taken and results gained
- Qualification function and further access
- Additional achievements
- Certification (i.e. electronic signature and date of production).
Undergraduate and taught postgraduate students who graduated prior to 2010
The Registry provides students, who graduated prior to 2010 or were on non-graduating credit-bearing courses, with copies of their academic transcript.
The following information is printed on the academic transcript:
- The modules taken in each academic year of study.
- The assessment and reassessment (as appropriate) grades for each module.
- The total number of credits gained for each module taken and in each academic year of study.
- The details of prizes and medals awarded (where applicable).
- The degree awarded and degree classification (where applicable).
- An explanation of the grading system can be found through the following link, printed on the academic transcript.
