Matriculation

All students must matriculate (register) each academic session to allow them to continue with their studies.

Students will be sent an email to their University email address, at least two weeks prior to their matriculation deadline, containing instructions on how to complete the online part of the process and what is required.

International students will be asked to attend a passport and visa check at matriculation. Full details of where and when the event will take place will be included in online matriculation and on the Advising and Matriculation web pages.

Undergraduate students should note that Advising is a compulsory, essential part of matriculation and should be completed during Orientation Week. The procedures vary depending on Faculty, School and level of study. Further information about Advising can be found at Advising and matriculation.

Undergraduate Study Abroad

If you are going to be away from St Andrews as part of your studies you will have been advised at your pre-departure briefing that you must matriculate whilst you are abroad using the Online Matriculation System in August and September. Full details will be sent to your University of St Andrews email account over the summer and you should ensure that you complete the matriculation process by the given deadline even though you are abroad.
