Life Experience
Who are you going to be?
Going to University is a life changing experience. Many people view University as not just a place to study, but also somewhere to develop as a person. For many people it will be the first time they move away from home and learn to live independently. Whilst working towards a degree, students will manage aspects of life such as money, accommodation, health, relationships, family and future career plans. This can be overwhelming, especially when 'life happens', and the unexpected arises. Even with the best preparation, plans change, targets and goals are reorganised and a number of life priorities must be juggled. There are a lot of new things to get used to which should prepare students for life in the real world!
The University offers a wide range of support and advice about life at University. Over a third of students contact Student Services each year for both everyday information and getting help for more serious problems. If they can't help, they will certainly know who can.
The following information is provided to help make your life both at St Andrews and after you've graduated a little easier.
