Walking and Jogging groups

The University has two walking / jogging groups that depart from the Sports Centre on Wednesdays at 1pm and Saturdays at 8.30am. All levels welcome!

There is a University Walking and cycling map (PDF, 86 KB) to help you. Why not start a local walking group with some of your colleagues at lunchtime?

 

Jogging Groups

Are you one of those people who think they should do more exercise but never gets around to it? Or maybe you’d like to lose weight but find it difficult to motivate yourself? Or maybe you’re just looking for a new hobby or a place to meet new people? Exercising regularly boosts energy levels, enhances self-esteem and aids long-term weight loss.

A slight change in lifestyle can make a big difference to health at any time, regardless of age, fitness level or ability. Come along to one of the below classes run by qualified jog leaders who will help you reach your goals. It is advised that if you have no/little running experience that you attend the beginners group.

Tuesday: 5.30 – 6.30pm @ Sports Centre reception (Beginners group)

Wednesday: 1-2pm @ sports centre reception (mixed ability)

Saturday: 8.30 – 9.30am @ Lawhead primary school (mixed ability)
