Staff Wellbeing Challenge

team wellbeing

Over 100 staff members in 28 teams from all across the University took part in the 2012 Staff Wellbeing Challenge.

The 8 week challenge ran from 18 June - 12 August. The participants each paid £3 to enter with the total money being donated to the winning team's chosen local charity. The team that is the most physically active will be crowned the challenge winners.

Each participant received the following as part of signing up for the challenge:

  • Free pre and post fitness tests which will measure components of health and fitness (blood pressure / BMI / flexibility etc.).
  • Free workshops on fitness and nutrition.
  • 2 weeks' free entry to fitness classes (workout with workmates).

Teams this year walked, ran, cycled, jogged, danced, climbed, golfed, swam and hiked (amongst others!) to a huge calorie expenditure total.

Even if didn't take part in this year's challenge, it's not too late to increase your activity levels anyway. The smallest of changes to our lifestyle can have massive benefits on our health and wellbeing.
