Staff voicemail enquiries
A number of school, unit and individual staff extensions within the University have access to voicemail. If a participating extension is not answered within the designated 4 rings, and it has not been diverted to another extension, the caller will be invited to leave a message.
Restel controls a similar system for students living in halls of residence. All students are offered a voicemail facility as part of their residence fees.
In certain circumstances a caller may be presented with a "does not answer" message. It means that the extension dialled has not been answered within the alloted time, it does not have voicemail and it has been diverted to another extension which in turn has not been answered. In these circumstances the telephone system attempts to return the call to the original extension and cannot do so. As a result the above message is generated.
- Staff voicemail enquires should be made to the Telephone Office by calling extension 2100/7221. Further information can be found on the University voicemail page.
- Student voicemail enquiries should be made to ResTel by telephoning extension 7221 only or by completing the voicemail form.
