Composting
In July 2007, the University purchased its own in-vessel Rocket composter. This is being used to compost the fruit and vegetable waste from all of our catered halls of residence, along with green waste from the University Grounds. In the first six months of operation, 4.2. tonnes of food waste were composted. This compost is then used within the University grounds.
