Outgoing and Incoming Calls
Outgoing calls: (After completing the on-line registration form and making an on-line payment) Once your account notification document is received detailing your PAC dial *72* PAC number # 9 then the telephone number.
Student Residence Incoming calls: (Already enabled without registration) Your caller must dial ++44 (Outside UK) (0) 1334 42 followed by your extension number. (From the US dial 011 44 1334 42). If you have a 5 digit extension number (14XXX). The caller must dial ++44 (Outside UK) (0) 1334 46 47 48 and enter the extension number when prompted. 5 digit extension numbers cannot be dialled direct.
Internal calls: Dial extension number only. (Last 4 or 5 digits of number)
Auto account status: Dial 5014 and enter your PAC number
EMERGENCY: Dial 9 for an outside line followed by '999' (give full details to the emergency operator).
Using Voicemail (not applicable to 5 digit extension numbers)
Entering your voicemail box for the first time
- Dial 4545. At the prompt for the security code Press * then #
- At the prompt Enter your Mailbox No. (the same as your extension number)
- At the prompt for the security code Enter '0000' (the default security code)
You will now be taken through the voicemail tutorial, to set up your mailbox. Without these facilities invoked, your mailbox will not be active and callers will not receive your voicemail when calls are unanswered.

How to access your voicemail box
Via your own internal extension: Dial extension 4545. At the prompt enter your security code.
Via another extension:(with mailbox) Dial extension 4545 followed by * then #. At the prompt enter your own mailbox (extension) number. At the prompt enter your security code.
Via an external line: Dial +44 (0) 1334 424545 followed by #. At the prompt Enter your own mailbox (extension) number. At the prompt entrer your security code.
How to change your voicemail settings
After accessing your mailbox as normal, press 3 to access your Phone Manager, and follow the prompts. Contact the ResTel Helpdesk if you experience problems
How voicemail works
Your phone will divert to voicemail after approx 4 rings if unanswered, and immediately if you are on the phone. A Message Waiting Indicator (interrupted dial tone) will tell you when you have new messages. Messages will be retained for 21 days before being automatically deleted.
Listening to messages
Listen: Press 1 from the main menu
Pause/Resume: Press 1 to toggle pause on and off
Forward Message: Press 2
Back up for 5 seconds: Press 3
Discard messages: Press 4
Retrieve discarded messages: Press 4 then Press 7 and follow system prompts
Save message: Press 5
Review message: Press 6
Skip to next message: Press 7
Reply to left message: Press 8 (press 8,2 to record a reply or 8,9 to transfer to the sender)
Advance for 5 seconds: Press 9
Help: Press #
Cancel/Exit: Press * several times
Recording and sending messages
Record and send messages: Press 2 from the main menu
Pause/Resume: Press 2 to toggle pause on and off
Back up for 5 seconds: Press 3
Discard recording: Press 4
Send recording: Press 5
Review recording: Press 6
Advance for 5 seconds: Press 9
Access to message routing options: Press 0 to mark recordings urgent, for future delivery
Help: Press #
Cancel/Exit: Press * several times
