Licensing procedures for Centres and Institutes

Current licensing procedure
Proposals for new centres or institutes should be completed on the standard form downloaded from this page, and emailed to the Deputy Principal & Vice Principal for Research via the Research Policy Office (rpo@st-andrews.ac.uk). Each proposal should be supported by an email or letter from both the appropriate Head(s) of School and Director(s) of Research. (Emails of support should reach us within 14 days of an application.)
Successful applications are granted a licence for a period of 3 or 5 years, after which period the centre or institute will be required to submit a re-licensing application, again supported by both the appropriate Head(s) of School and Director(s) of Research. The relicensing proposal can be downloaded from this page.
Centres and Institutes are reviewed annually by the Deputy Principal & Vice Principal for Research.
For all enquiries please contact the Research Policy Office in the first instance.
