However, most importantly there are implications for the curriculum, especially the kinds of assessment practices which are increasingly being used that facilitate the development of critical self-awareness. These include formative assessment; group (or team) work and projects; seminar presentations (self- and peer-assessed as well as tutor-assessed); independent group projects; learning diaries and logs; and development of student portfolios that are assessed both formatively and summatively.
