3.2 Principles of assessment

  1. Audience: This policy is for the attention of:- All academic staff, in particular Heads of Schools; Directors of Teaching; Module Co-ordinators; Examinations Officers; Directors of Postgraduate Studies; External Examiners; Pro Deans; Registry, Student Services.
  2. Scope: This policy applies to all undergraduate and taught postgraduate students in the University.
  3. Responsibilities: Policy author: Vice-Principal (Proctor), Dean of Arts, Dean of Science. Responsibility for the implementation of the policy lies with the Vice-Principal (Proctor), Deans of Arts and Science.
  4. Relationship with existing policies: This policy supersedes the version dated April 2009 which has now been withdrawn. This document should be read in conjunction with the paper Assessment Policies and Procedures.
