Appendix 1 - Grades for tutoring, lecturing, demonstrating
Four generic job descriptions have been developed to cover the majority of hourly paid casual tutoring, lecturing and demonstrating jobs. The grades/pay rate for these jobs are as follows (see Appendix 2 for full job descriptions).

The hourly rates reflect the pay due for each hour of work undertaken (be that contact time, preparation, marking or attending meetings etc). Payment will only be made for additional work that is required and approved by the Head of School in advance of the work taking place.
Any tutor, demonstrator or lecturing job which is substantially different from the four generic job descriptions above should be graded separately by the HERA team (email: framework@st-andrews.ac.uk; tel: 1670).
* Rates will increase in line with annual pay awards.
