Work Experience

It is recognised that the placing of school pupils for work experience is beneficial for both parties involved and is a useful method of promoting personal development of the pupil. However, the placing of pupils in a School/Unit to obtain such work experience increases the liability of the Head of the School/Unit and the University. The University's Environmental, Health and Safety Services have issued guidance notes on this matter. These notes are not intended to prevent or impede the placing of school pupils in the University but to help minimise risk of harm to the pupils and to ensure that the legal integrity of the University is not compromised.
