Academic Probationers mentoring
Target audience: newly appointed academics'.
Aim: to provide a supportive structure for new members of lecturing staff. Schools are encouraged to include Teaching Fellows in this scheme. The scheme compliments local induction proccedures, centrally provided induction, staff development and Q6, which collectively aim to ensure new members of staff receive all the necessary advice & support they require in the early stages of their appointment.
The probationer will be provided with a Mentor within his/her school. Please note, the Academic Probation Policy should be read in conjunction with the mentoring information.
Further information & guidance is available via the Academic Probationers mentoring homepage.

Research staff/Early career academics' mentoring
Target audience: New lecturers/Teaching Fellows who would like a mentor outwith their school (seperate to their probationary mentor), and Research staff.
Aim: to facilitate personal & professional development through support, challenge, and review. This scheme is run by the University on a cross-institutional basis, in conjunction with the University of Dundee.
Further information & guidance is available via the Research staff/Early career academics' mentoring homepage.
Any questions regarding the scheme?
Contact Jos Finer, Research Staff Developer, CAPOD (see to the right for details).
Support staff mentoring
Target audience: Support staff.
Aim: support the mentee & help them to achieve specific objectives that they set for themselves. In the majority of matches it is envisaged that mentors and mentees will be from differing schools/units which will promote cross-school/unit working. We ask that Heads of Schools/units & line managers be supportive of this scheme.
For further information & guidance is available via the Support staff mentoring homepage.
