Saints Rugby coaches to travel to New Zealand to learn from the best

University of St Andrews Director of Rugby David Ross, assistant coach Chris Martin and performance analyst Burhan Torgut are traveling to the other side of the world to spend time with one of the most successful rugby teams in the world, The Canterbury Crusaders, in order to learn and develop as coaches.

Ice Skating Club -Semester 1 Report 2016-17

Water Polo Club - Semester 1 Report 2016-17

Both Men’s and Women’s Water Polo have had a very successful first half of the season. The Men’s Team are top of BUCS Scottish 1A league after an extremely impressive win against Edinburgh 2nds. They came from 7-8 down to win 9-8 in the final minute. They have won all their matches except for a tight away loss against Dundee and are on course for winning the league for a second year in a row. Read more...

Triathlon Club - Semester 1 Report 2016-17

This semester has been an outstanding one for the Triathlon Club. The club has grown significantly, with paid membership already doubled from the last academic year. We continue to train hard with seven sessions per week, four of which are coached by our fantastic coach Ross Whittaker. Current training sessions include a track session, four swimming sessions, a cycle, and a studio session, which either focuses on strength and conditioning or spinning. Read more...

Following the Sports Fayre the club had 42 new signups for our mailing list and over 25 people attended our Freshers’ Week give-it-a-go session. Three of our new members are now on the club committee. In October we held an EGM where we elected a new committee of 16, including a new Fundraising & Sponsorship Rep and a Postgraduate Rep. Overall, there have been plenty of promising signs for the Table Tennis Club this semester. Firstly, the club managed to send three teams (two Men’s and one Women’s) to BUCS this year and the Men’s 1st Team seems like they have come back to the form, which saw them win the league in 2014-2015. Swimming Club - Semester 1 Report 2016-17

The Swimming Club have had an excellent start to the year, growing from strength to strength. After a large sign up at the Sports Fayre, the club now has over 70 members compared to last year’s 50. The introduction of the Development Squad has played a significant role in accommodating this larger group of swimmers, and provides three sessions a week coached by Eilidh (President), Giselle (Women’s Captain) or Xander (Men’s Captain).
