Dr David Sinclair

Dr David Sinclair is Pro Dean of Medicine in the Faculty of Medicine and Senior Lecturer in Anatomy in the School of Medicine.
Responsibilities of the Pro Dean of Medicine include oversight, on behalf of the Dean, of academic and pastoral affairs of undergraduate students in the Faculty, including advising; status changes, such as leave of absence; termination of studies; handling of appeals, and corresponding with Local Education Authorities and other external bodies concerning student matters.
A medical graduate of the University of St Andrews in 1972, Dr Sinclair subsequently undertook clinical training, principally in Surgery, in Dundee, Nottingham and Edinburgh. He was appointed to a Lectureship in St Andrews in 1979, becoming Pro Dean in 1989 and Senior Lecturer in 1994. Dr Sinclair, who is a Fellow of both the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and the British Association of Clinical Anatomists, has a particular interest in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education.
