Klaus Zuberbühler conducts research on the cognitive capacities of non-human primates (Royal Society Summer Exhibition 2007).
Current projects include
(1) Cognitive processes underlying monkey communication (with Kate Arnold, Anne-Marijke Schel, Karim Ouattara, and Alban Lemasson)
(2) Alarm calling behaviour in white-handed gibbons (with Esther Clarke and Ulrich Reichard)
(3) Vocal communication in chimpanzees and bonobos (with Roman Wittig, Katie Slocombe, Marion Laporte, Simon Townsend, Zanna Clay and Gottfried Hohmann)
(4) Food localisation skills of free-ranging mangabeys (with Karlien Janmaat, Dick Byrne and Colin Chapman)
(5) Attention getting and gaze following in captive chimpanzees (with Elainie Madsen and Juan-Carlos Gómez).
