Women in Science Festival 2017

Wednesday 08 March 2017

Psychologist Kate Cross and physicist Helen Cammack took to the stage in Dundee on 7th March night to represent their respective disciplines in a battle for the title of ‘hardest science’. Compere Susan Morrison, ably assisted by the audience, discovered that there’s a lot that these two sciences have in common: Both involve measuring things very carefully to avoid changing them too much (whether that’s light or human behaviour); both have common misconceptions about them (whether that’s ‘not real science’ or ‘not for girls’); and both involve excitement, frustration, and electrical equipment. The battle was declared a draw!
