Filming and photography requests
Permission to interview staff, film or shoot on University grounds must be sought in advance. Requests for stock photos and footage of the University – both present and historic – can also be made here.
Location filming / photography
The historic setting and ancient university make St Andrews a popular choice for film locations and photo shoots.
The University of St Andrews owns a substantial collection of unique and historic buildings dating from the 16th Century to the present day, providing a wide range of both interior and exterior locations.
The University has been used for feature films, TV dramas and documentaries, adverts, fashion shoots, theatrical productions and events.
Please note that the University is a full time academic institution, and as such there are restrictions regarding the availability of certain locations, particularly during the University teaching weeks.
