Student fashion show to sell foam for 600th fund.
Wednesday 24 October 2012
St Andrews students will raise money for the University’s 600th fund in a novel manner next week.. by selling shaving foam for Raisin Monday.
The group behind this year’s St Andrews Charity Fashion Show (FS 2013) will donate profits from the sales during Monday’s annual foam fight to the Wardlaw Scholarship.
The initiative is just the first of a series of fundraising efforts in support of the 600th anniversary campaign – the group hopes to make a significant contribution to the fund through next February’s fashion show in St Andrews, as well as an Alumni dinner in London.
The Wardlaw Scholarship scheme was established in 2004 to provide financial assistance for academically gifted students who would otherwise struggle with the cost of studying at the University of St Andrews. The Scholarships provide assistance with the cost of accommodation, and awards are based on financial need. They allow the recipients the freedom to concentrate on achieving a world-class education, and to make the most of their St Andrews experience.
FS 2013 aims to celebrate all that is great about the student experience in the 21st century. The annual foam fight takes place this year on Monday 29th October in St Salvator’s Quadrangle.
