The world renowned tenor Ian Bostridge will be among the stars of a new festival of vocal music – St Andrews Voices – taking place at the University and other venues in town next week, 18-21 October 2013.
Ian, who was made an Honorary Doctor of Music by St Andrews in 2003, is also a Patron of the new festival, the vision of University Director of Music Michael Downes and promoter Sonia Stevenson. The festival is the first of its kind in Scotland and aims to bring together an international wealth of vocal talent to celebrate the voice in all its guises.
Other performers during the week include the baritone Ben McAteer, the Boxettes, Counterpoise and Eleanor Bron, leading singers from Scottish Opera, Cabaret Chordelia and the St Salvator’s Chapel Choir.
Daytime and evening concerts and performances are taking place at the Younger Hall and the Byre Theatre. For further information and to buy tickets please visit www.standrewsvoices.com or call 01334 462226.
