Who will be the new Rector? The students decide!
Friday 07 October 2011
Who will follow in the footsteps of the author of The Jungle Book and comedian John Cleese? The time has come to elect a new Rector – a unique position held only in four Scottish ancient universities - St Andrews, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen – and Dundee. Elected every three years by the student body, the Rector acts on behalf of the students and chairs Court, the supreme governing body of the University.
Between now and October 19th , students can select and nominate their choice, who may end up in the running to replace current Rector Kevin Dunion. The new Rector will hold the position for three years and, uniquely, will span the University’s 600th anniversary celebrations.
Students can nominate from Monday 17 October at 9am until 5pm on Wednesday 19 October.
