St Andrews’ revamped Main Library will re-open for business on Monday 26 September at 8am after 16 weeks of intensive renovation.

The revamp is part of a £14 million investment in the Library and its collections – the first step in a comprehensive long term modernisation programme.

Over the summer, the Library’s entrance level has been transformed from 1970s chic to a 21st century design providing state-of-the-art academic facilities.

The revamp has provided 74 extra entrance level study spaces (334 in total), bookable study rooms and a new 76-seat café.

The re-opened Library will have extended opening hours – until 2am Sundays to Thursdays and until midnight Fridays and Saturdays during term-time.
