St Andrews' student wins extreme sporting event

St Andrews' student Jonny Hawkins made a big splash in this year's Etive River Race in the West Highlands. Jonny was one of 50 elite competitors from across Europe to face a series of tough white water rapids and rock slides.
The event culminated in 'Right Angle Falls', a challenging and spectacular seven metre waterfall jump. Jonny (21), a 3rd year Geography student, led the field to win the open singles competition.
