Students canoe across Scotland for charity.
Tuesday 06 April 2010
A group of intrepid St Andrews' students battled head winds and freezing temperatures to raise over £2000 for charity.
Taking three days to canoe 96km across Scotland, 24 students from the St Andrews Adventure Group (STAAG) paddled from the Atlantic shores of Fort William to the North Sea at Inverness, in aid of the charity Save The Children.
The gruelling expedition, led by second year Geography Student Sean Dugan, took the students through Loch Lochy, Loch Oich and Loch Ness.
A further £480 was raised for the Young Heroes St Andrews Campaign, helping AIDS orphans in Swaziland.
