Students taking part in this year's foam fight in the Quad.
Every year on Raisin Monday, first year students are dressed by their academic parents and paraded through the town. The annual event, one of St Andrews more recent traditions, culminates in a foam fight in St Salvator's Quadrangle.
The roots of Raisin weekend go back to just after the Second World War when senior students developed the idea as a way of integrating and welcoming junior students.
