Sir Jackie Stewart - one of five 'great Scots' to be granted an honorary degree on November 27th.

Sir Jackie, recognised by many as the first truly modern professional racing driver, will make a pit stop in St Andrews to be made an honorary Doctor of Science (DSc) on Thursday 27 November.

Three times winner of the World Driving Championship and known as 'The Flying Scot', Dumbarton-born Sir Jackie's Formula One achievements still place him among the top five drivers of all time.

The University of St Andrews will also honour its own Principal during the traditional St Andrew's Day graduation ceremony. Dr Brian Lang, who retires from the University at the end of the year will join fellow honoraries Sir Jackie Stewart, Simon Pepper, Bridget McConnell and Dr Barbara Rae. Both Dr Lang and Simon Pepper are being honoured for their services to the University as Principal and Rector respectively.
