The Sunday Times University Guide has ranked St Andrews top in Scotland, naming us Scottish University of the Year.
It is the second time in three years that the University has received this award and the third time we have been singled out by the Guide (in 2002 we were awarded the UK University of the Year title).
St Andrews is placed 5th in the UK in this year's listing - our highest ever ranking and the first time a Scottish university has made the national top five in the guide's 11 year history.
We have also been named joint third university in the UK (alongside Cambridge) in the National Student Survey 2008 published earlier this month.
Last weekend's result consolidates St Andrews' position as the highest ranking Scottish university in league table history.
