FC Barcelona are to return to St Andrews, following the success of last summer's pre-season training camp at the University.

Footballing giants FC Barcelona will arrive back in St Andrews this summer to train at the University's 'first class training facilities'.

The club will arrive in Scotland on Monday 21st and depart on Saturday 26th July.  During their stay, they will train at the University's playing fields and play two friendly fixtures against Dundee United and Hibernian FC (26 and 24 July respectively).

Commenting on behalf of FC Barcelona, the club's Sports Director, Txiki Begiristain said that everyone at the club was very much looking forward to returning to Scotland. "We are happy to come back to St Andrews taking in consideration that the experience from last year was more than positive," he said. The facilities, the weather, the logistics, everything contributed to work in perfect conditions... Apart from the working conditions we also were happy to receive the warmth from the supporters and, in general, from everybody in St Andrews."
