Tuition Fees

Please see the University pages for the definitive statement on tuition fee levels. The taught postgraduate tuition fee depends on whether a student is from Europe or from outside Europe, due to the way in which funding comes to the UK university system. As of December 2011 the tution fee for overseas students has been set for 2012-13. The expectation is that the tuition fees for home and EU students will be set after national discussions in January, and I currently do not expect a major change from the 2011-12 tuition fee.

Financial Support

It is likely that at least some students domiciled in Scotland will be able to get tuition fee loan support via the universities from the Student Awards Agency for Scotland (SAAS).

Potential students from Mexico may wish to know that we have agreements with authorities there to provide discounts on tuition fees, 30% with CONACyT and 20% for FUNED and FIDERH, currently for 2012 entry.

Accommodation

Those students wishing assistance in finding accommodation in St Andrews should apply to our accommodation services as soon as they have accepted a place on the course. Accommodation for the Heriot-Watt part of the course is organised after the start of the course.

There is a wide range of University-owned accommodation in St Andrews, as well as a selection of privately owned accommodation.
