Applicants from other countries should possess similar qualifications, and will also need to show evidence of competence in the English language. Applicants should be aware that this is a physics-based degree, so a good working knowledge of physical and mathematical concepts is needed.
The UK Borders Agency has requirements on the proven abilities of students in English. These are a sometimes a little higher than the requirements that this University used to state in order that students could benefit fully and immediately from instruction here. We understand that the UK Borders Agency needs qualification similar to the following:-
- IELTS 7.0 overall, with a minimum of 6.0 in each category

- TOEFL Paper Based 620 minimum
If potential students need additional work on their English language this University and many others run English language programmes before the start of the academic year.
