The Scottish Centre for Interdisciplinary Surface Spectroscopy (SCISS) is a collaborative centre funded by the SFC. It focuses on real- and momentum space resolved electron spectroscopy of complex materials.

SCISS brings together 6 research groups in correlated electron physics, surface science and solid state chemistry from the Universities of Edinburgh and St Andrews and is designed to attract a broad user community.



News:

  • 10/2007 Open post-doc position in the Schaub research group.

  • 05/09/2007: first "users-meeting" of the SCISS spectroscopy centre at the University of Edinburgh.

  • 02/2007: At the School of Physics in St. Andrews extensive refurbishment of labs starts to put in the ARPES and STM equipment (picture).

  • 02/2007: SRDG-SCISS bid was successful. Our consortium receives £1.65M from Scottish Funding Council.

  • 09/2006: SRDG (Strategic research Development Grant) - SCISS bid went through the 1st shortlist stage.
