Step 6 - Register with the Health Centre
As a student in the UK you will be covered under the NHS, which provides routine or emergency medical treatment without consultation costs.
Please read the information and complete the registration form: Application to Register with the Health Centre and Medical Questionnaire (PDF, 243 KB). Bring the completed form with you to Matriculation in Orientation.
If you require regular medication you should ensure that you arrive in St Andrews with at least one month's supply. You should then have time to consult a doctor here before you need to obtain further supplies.
If you are an international student on regularly prescribed medication you should contact the Health Centre in St Andrews (+44 (0)1334 476840) to ensure that your medication is available in the UK or that it is legal to bring a supply with you. It is illegal to send unlicensed medication through the mail.
The NHS will not repatriate you to your home country if you become very ill or are seriously injured, so it is strongly recommended that you maintain some limited insurance cover in your home country.
Further information on medical and dental care can be found on the Health issues webpages.
If you have any general pre-arrival questions about health matters, please do not hesitate to contact The ASC on +44 (0)1334 462020 or email theasc@st-andrews.ac.uk.
Step 7 - Choose your modules
It is important that this step is completed before your arrival in St Andrews.

Once you have decided which modules you would like to take please enter your module choices online. Instructions are in the yellow box on the Pre-Advising Guide for Non-Graduating Students page.
