Jane Pettegree MA PhD

Jane Pettegree's doctorate was on early modern theatre and identity.  Her book 'Foreign and Native on the English Stage, 1588-1611' (Palgrave, 2011) was shortlisted for the Globe Theatre book prize.  She continues to be interested in opera and theatre, and has directed operas for the University of St Andrews Music Centre.  Before embarking on her PhD, she sang in groups around Scotland including Capella Nova, and has a particular interest in early music.  She teaches on MU1013 (Understanding Music for Beginners), MU2002 Scottish Music and MU1005 (Reading Opera) and is Acting Director of Teaching for the Music Department.
