Listen
The Younger Hall is the leading venue in St Andrews for classical concerts.
The Music Centre presents lunchtime concerts every Wednesday during semester, by local and visiting professional musicians as well as some of the most talented students at the university. Admission is free for Music Centre members, £2 for non-members.
Every Friday lunchtime the University Music Society hosts a lunchtime recital. They provide university students with the opportunity to perform in a friendly, informal environment, both as a soloist and as a member of a chamber group. Admission is free, and tea and coffee are available.
In addition, there is a busy programme of evening concerts. We are very fortunate to have the Scottish Chamber Orchestra as our orchestra in residence. As well as five full orchestra concerts each year, they present a number of chamber concerts here, and their members provide coaching and masterclass opportunities for our students.
Other regular performers include the Fitzwilliam String Quartet, the various groups run by the Music Centre, the University Music Society and other musical groups from the local community.
