Concerts and musical events

The Younger Hall is the leading venue in St Andrews for classical concerts.

The Music Centre presents lunchtime concerts every Wednesday during term-time, by local and visiting professional musicians as well as some of the most talented students at the university. Snack lunches and drinks are available for purchase, and you are welcome to bring your own packed lunch to eat during the concert. Admission is free for Music Centre members, £2 for non-members.

Every Friday lunchtime the University Music Society hosts a lunchtime recital. They provide university students with the opportunity to perform in a friendly, informal environment, both as a soloist and as a member of a chamber group. Admission is free, and tea and coffee are available.

In addition, there is a busy programme of evening concerts. These are given by a variety of different organisations including professional soloists and ensembles such as the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and the Fitzwilliam String Quartet, the various groups run by the Music Centre, the University Music Society and other musical groups from the local community.

Concert Cards

The Music Centre has joined with the University Music Society, the St Andrews Chorus and the St Andrews Music Club to offer a fantastic deal to matriculated University of St Andrews students.
