Visitor information
The MUSA Collections Centre is the store for some of the fascinating treasures from the collections of Scotland’s oldest university. It is home to many objects from the University’s vast collection of over 112,000 artefacts that are not on display in our three public venues. You can explore behind the scenes to see fantastic objects, from fine art to furniture, carved sculptures to coffee pots, on open display.
The Collections Centre is housed in an environmentally-controlled store that was developed with the assistance of Museums Galleries Scotland through the Recognition Fund. It provides the best possible storage conditions for the care of the University’s collections of fine and applied art, silver, textiles, furniture, chemistry and historic scientific instruments. These collections have been recognised as collections of national significance by Museums Galleries Scotland.
To discover the MUSA Collections Centre and find out more about how we look after our collections, you can sign up for a guided tour or come along to one of our events for all ages. We run a varied programme of exciting activities for community and school groups. You can also have a look at some more details in this leaflet MUSA Collections Centre Leaflet (PDF, 1,485 KB)
