Facilities and access

Facilities

MUSA is laid out over four galleries on the ground floor. There is an educational space called the Learning Loft on the first floor and a Roof Terrace. There is also a small souvenir shop.

Please note that we only have parking facilities for disabled badge holders. The museum is easily located on foot from the centre of St Andrews. Free parking at our temporary exhibition space the Gateway Galleries is available (about 10 minutes' walk)

Access

MUSA is accessed by a level entrance and the four main galleries are on one level. Doorways and gallery spaces have been designed to accommodate all users, including those using wheelchairs.

Accessible toilets are available on both the ground and first floor.

A lift is available to the first floor, where you will find the museum’s Viewing Terrace and Learning Loft.

Guide, hearing and assistance dogs are allowed in all areas of the museum.

A Braille version of the MUSA Gallery Guide is available to use while in the museum. MUSA has been working with the Fife Blind and Partially Sighted Access Panel and are working towards making MUSA as welcoming as possible to visually impaired visitors. We hope to announce additional services in the future.

An induction loop is available in the Learning Loft. For talks taking place in the galleries a portable loop system is available. Please ask a member of staff if you require this for a talk in the galleries.

MUSA staff have received Just Ask training through the Fife Sensory Impairment Centre. Find out more about Just Ask training.
