Study abroad

A highly recommended part of the programme is the period spent in Russia studying at a university or language institute, something that can be combined with residence in a Russian home to maximise exposure to Russian language and life. Honours degrees With Integrated Year Abroad in Russia involve living in the country for the academic session between Second and Third levels. Students may choose to combine one semester of study in Russia with a work placement in a Russian-speaking country, usually within the EU. Students not wishing to pursue a five-year degree course may prefer to go to Russia for the second semester of Third level. Should a semester in Russia not be possible, a summer course in Russia may be undertaken. In each case, students are placed on a university language course under the auspices of Russian Language Undergraduate Studies Ltd, a charitable organisation based in the UK. All such arrangements are made with the help, advice, and support of the Russian Department.
