MLitt in Mediaeval Studies

Entrance Requirements: A good degree with Honours from a UK university or its equivalent
Programme Duration: One year
Aim of Programme: This innovative degree offers students an introduction to the growing field of interdisciplinary Mediaeval Studies, equipping them with knowledge of different theoretical approaches, current debates and the nature of cross and interdisciplinary work.
Programme Content: It consists of a year-long core module taught by staff from History, Art History, Modern Languages and English introducing theory and technical skills, complemented by training modules in palaeography, an ancient or mediaeval language, and subject-specific options, including mediaeval French, German and Italian. The MLitt normally concludes with the writing of a dissertation of 15,000 words on an agreed topic.
