MLitt in Language and Linguistics

Entrance Requirements: A good degree with Honours from a UK university or its equivalent
Programme Duration: One year
Aim of Programme: This degree offers students the opportunity to develop their linguistic understanding of one or more languages through a variety of theoretical approaches.
Programme Content: It consists of core skills modules on, for example, General Linguistics, Research Methods in Linguistics, Translation Studies or Sociolinguistics Methodologies, and optional modules taken from a range of linguistic areas such as Romance Linguistics, the Linguistics of Modern German, Spanish Linguistics, Medieval Translation Studies. The MLitt normally concludes with the writing of a dissertation of 15,000 words on an agreed topic.
