Research and Teaching

Robin MacKenzie specializes in nineteenth- and early twentieth-century fiction. He started academic life as a Proustian, publishing a monograph and a number of articles on various aspects of Proust’s writing, and has also written on Mérimée, Fromentin and Gracq. He has a long-standing interest in comparative literature and is currently Treasurer of the British Comparative Literature Association. He has taught widely across the spectrum of French language, literature and culture in three British universities. For several years he has been a member of the editorial team of Forum for Modern Language Studies and is currently the journal’s Administrative Editor.
