The University-Placement co-ordinator for the Department of Spanish is:
Dr Ricardo Fernandez

The Department of Spanish has exchange programmes with the following universities:

Spain: Alcalá (Madrid), Deusto (Bilbao), Santiago de Compostela, Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona) and Valladolid
Uruguay: Universidad de Montevideo

Studying in Spain: Studying in Spain, as in the rest of Europe, will seem more anonymous to you at first: larger classes, less contact with individual teachers, more panoramic courses and fewer seminars, a slower-moving bureaucracy. On the other hand, you will benefit from having to adapt to new ways of learning, and you will share with your peers a major aspect of living in the culture of your study. Spanish degrees last either 4 or 5 years and have a primer and segundo ciclo (the former usually the first two years). You should ideally attend segundo ciclo, but can also take earlier courses if suitable.
