Research and Teaching
My research and teaching interests focus on British Literature; the dissertation I completed at the University of Paris 3, or Sorbonne Nouvelle, in 2011 had to do with the role and place of gossip in Jane Austen’s Emma. I’m, however, also very interested in American and Post-Colonial Literature, for example the works of Salman Rushdie, Anita Desai or Herman Melville. Translation from English to French, and from French to English, is also a question that fascinates me because of the issues that arise from the cultural differences, or more simply because of the different structures of the two languages.
I teach the French oral classes at both sub-Honours and Honours levels.
